The second stage of the seed grant with the Education Faculty, HKU saw SWIMers leading a fieldtrip with TWGHs Wong Fung Ling College school staff and students. During the field trip
students engaged in a series of interviews and used VR prior to the trip to learn about threats of pollution and climate change and then went onshore to measure the distribution of organisms in winter and now in summer. Students (and us as demonstrators!) were observed by educational specialists to assess how they interacted with the environment on the fieldtrip and how this experience might affect their future feelings towards conservation of the natural environment. As in the earlier trip it was a great day and big thanks to the students and their teachers who were fantastic to work with!
